EUSR SHEA Core

The SHEA Core scheme comprises six modules. The six core modules are common to all utility industries and form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and workplace practice.

It is designed to provide evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness.

This scheme does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.

Who should attend

The SHEA Core scheme is designed for individuals who require access to operational sites, both permanent and temporary, at all levels including operatives, supervisors, and management.

Pre-Requisites

Participants will require access to a digital device with internet access.


If the training is to be delivered remotely, the participant will need access to Microsoft Teams with camera and sound enabled.

Aim

You will gain an in-depth understanding of health, safety and environmental issues that you can use in your workplace.


The course will teach you how to work safely and what your responsibilities are. With the knowledge you gain, you will work on site legally and competently, whilst keeping yourself and others safe.

Course Content

The SHEA Core scheme includes six modules.


Modules 1–6 from SHEA Core are relevant for all utility industries and support workplace practice in relation to health, safety, and environmental law.


Includes the following topics:

  • Risk Assessments

  • Ensuring Safety on Work Premises

  • Identifying and Mitigating Physical Hazards

  • Recognising and Handling Health Hazards

  • Environmental Considerations and Protections


SHEA tests are designed as multiple-choice assessments, corresponding to each module. Learners have the flexibility to complete these tests for individual modules separately or to undertake all the module assessments simultaneously.

Full Award Assessment

Once the delegate has successfully completed the SHEA Core course and assessment, the results will be sent to the awarding body and cards will be issued to the delegate in due course.


Certification for this course is valid for 5 years from the date of training. To remain certified, you will need to retake the SHEA Core course before the expiry date on your card.
